Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. (NYSE:HLT) shares are trading lower on Tuesday after the company reported first-quarter results with adjusted earnings beating estimates, while revenue came in slightly below expectations.
Hilton Quarterly Details
The company reported first-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $2.01, beating the analyst consensus estimate of $1.96. Quarterly sales of $2.937 billion missed the Street view of $2.952 billion.
System-wide comparable RevPAR (revenue per available room) increased 3.6%, on a currency-neutral basis, for the first quarter compared to the same period in 2025.
Quarterly adjusted EBITDA totaled $901 million, compared with $795 million a year ago.
The firm said it approved 26,200 new rooms for development during the first quarter, expanding the pipeline. The development pipeline reached 527,000 rooms as of March 31, 2026, up 5% from the prior year.
“We achieved the largest pipeline in our history, and we remain confident in our ability to deliver net unit growth of 6.0% to 7.0% in 2026 and beyond,” said CEO Christopher J. Nassetta.
Total cash and cash equivalents were $619 million as of March 31, 2026, including $55 million of restricted cash and cash equivalents.
Dividend
In April 2026, the firm authorized a regular quarterly cash dividend of 15 cents per share of common stock, payable on June 30, 2026, to holders of record of our common stock as of the close of business on May 22, 2026.
Outlook
Hilton Worldwide expects second-quarter GAAP EPS of $2.13 to $2.19, compared with the $2.38 estimate. The firm expects second-quarter adjusted EPS of $2.18 to $2.24, compared with the $2.44 estimate. System-wide comparable RevPAR, on a currency-neutral basis, is projected to increase between 2% and 3% compared to the second quarter of 2025.
Hilton Worldwide raised the 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $8.79 to $8.91 from $8.65 to $8.77, compared with the $9.05 estimate. The firm lowered 2026 GAAP EPS guidance to $8.28 to $8.40 from $8.49 to $8.61, compared with the $8.71 estimate. System-wide comparable RevPAR, on a currency-neutral basis, is projected to increase between 2% and 3.0% compared to 2025.
The company expects modest growth, with system-wide comparable RevPAR rising 2%–3% year over year. The company said year-over-year profitability comparisons will be affected by one-time items in the second quarter of 2025 and a notable drag from weaker Middle East RevPAR.
