Cryptocurrency punters are aggressively betting on what President Donald Trump will say when he travels to Beijing for a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this week.

Word Mention Market Heats Up

Trump mentioning "Iran" was the most likely outcome on Polymarket, with a 74% probability.  Notably, China called for a full ceasefire after Iran’s foreign minister visited Beijing and reiterated support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy rights.

"AI" or "Artificial Intelligence" drew a 74% chance, amid reports that the U.S. and China were considering launching official talks on artificial intelligence during the summit.

The probability of "Tariff" being mentioned climbed to 69%, while "Ship" or "Chip" mentions stood at 64%. Trump's tariff policies have been repeatedly challenged in court, most recently with a federal ruling questioning the legal foundation of his 10% import duties.

Over $150,000 has been wagered on this word mention market. This market resolves to “Yes” if Trump says the listed term during events featuring Xi Jinping from Thursday to Friday.

Polymarket, powered by the Polygon (CRYPTO: POL) network, uses USDC (CRYPTO: USDC), allowing users to buy “Yes” and “No” shares using the stablecoin. The shares representing the correct outcome are paid out $1 USDC each upon market resolution.

Will Trump-Xi Hug Each Other?

Trump left Washington on Tuesday and is expected to arrive in Beijing on Wednesday. The high-stakes visit includes a welcome ceremony, bilateral meeting, tour of China's historic Temple of Heaven, and a state banquet.

Top business leaders, including Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon MuskApple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO Tim Cook, and Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA) CEO Kelly Ortberg, are expected to be part of Trump’s delegation.

Notably, despite Trump’s promise of a "big, fat hug" from Xi Jinping, Polymarket punters see only a 9% chance of the two leaders embracing each other.
