Fundstrat founder Tom Lee told investors at a Paris conference Tuesday that Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) mirrors Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) when its stock sat at $6, predicting ETH reaches $22,000 next bull cycle.
Five Macro Tailwinds Point To Crypto Spring Right Now
Lee laid out five reasons he believes crypto spring has already arrived. An Iran war ceasefire would collapse oil prices, potentially to $40, removing the biggest inflation driver keeping central banks hawkish.
Ethereum has its highest ever inverse correlation to oil, meaning lower oil directly supports ETH price.
Beyond oil, Lee pointed to four more tailwinds: the CLARITY Act advancing through Congress, a pro-crypto White House, new Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s publicly stated support for Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), and a structurally bullish stock market driven by millennial and Gen Z demographics entering their peak earning years.
“If you’re bearish today, you are bearish at the bottom for Bitcoin and Ethereum,” Lee stated.
Ethereum Treasuries Now Own 7% Of Supply And Generate $500M In Annual Rewards
Lee argued the Ethereum Foundation’s declining role is actually bullish, not bearish.
The Foundation held 17% of ETH supply in its early years and now holds just 0.1%, or roughly 100,000 ETH worth about $200 million.
Private treasury companies including Bitmine Immersion (NYSE:BMNR) and Sharplink Inc (NASDAQ:SBET) have stepped in, collectively owning 7% of circulating supply and generating $500 million annually in staking rewards.
Bitmine alone generates roughly $1 million per day in staking rewards and holds 4.5% of the Ethereum supply.
Moreover, Lee pointed to the company’s upcoming Russell 1000 inclusion on June 26 as a near-term catalyst, noting 1,575 of the 1,600 active managers benchmarked to the index have no Bitmine position yet and will need to make a decision.
Tokenization And Agentic AI Are The Next Legs For Ethereum
Lee argued tokenization could reach $300 trillion in securities markets, making Ethereum’s current $240 billion network value look deeply undervalued.
He also pointed to agentic AI and robotics as the next wave, arguing that blockchain infrastructure is better suited than traditional rails for controlling robot systems through authentication, identity, and payment speed.
If Ethereum reaches $22,000, Bitmine stock targets $500 based on the 90% correlation between the two assets.
Lee also put a longer-term 50x target on Ethereum itself from current levels, citing the convergence of tokenization and AI as the primary catalysts.
