Coinbase Global Inc. (NASDAQ:COIN) CEO Brian Armstrong has intensified his push for the CLARITY Act by pointing to the supposed priorities of millions of American voters ahead of an expected Senate vote.

America Needs CLARITY

In a series of posts on X on Tuesday, Armstrong said roughly one in four Americans own cryptocurrency, with more than half of those holders under the age of 45.

He cited polling showing that American voters are twice as likely to support candidates who back the CLARITY Act than those who oppose it, regardless of political affiliation.

"CLARITY isn’t only a win for crypto users," Armstrong said. "It’s a win for the future of America as a global leader for finance, innovation, and national security."

Armstrong also pointed to survey data indicating 82% of Americans believe the financial system needs modernization, arguing that digital assets represent the next generation of financial technology.

"Crypto is our generation’s choice," Coinbase pointed out—”America needs CLARITY.”

70% Americans Agree For Crypto Regulations

Armstrong said the legislation is the result of years of bipartisan negotiations aimed at creating a comprehensive regulatory framework for the crypto industry.

He added that 70% of Americans believe the U.S. should already have clear crypto regulations, regardless of whether they personally support digital assets.

The bill would strengthen consumer protections, provide law enforcement with clearer authority to combat illicit activity and encourage crypto businesses to operate within the U.S. regulatory framework instead of moving offshore.

He also highlighted provisions that would give banks additional authority to integrate stablecoins and other crypto services.

“This week we get to see who in the Senate represents the will of the people,” Armstrong said. “And will step up to vote YES on this commonsense legislation.”

Industry Reaction

Former U.S. Senate candidate and crypto attorney John E. Deaton echoed Armstrong’s call, emphasizing that approximately 25% of American adults now own cryptocurrency.

Deaton also dismissed criticism linking the legislation to President Donald Trump’s crypto holdings.

"The ‘But Trump is corrupt’ objection to CLARITY is just plain dumb," Deaton wrote.

"The reason President Trump was able to make $1.4 billion on crypto is because there was no clarity. To not provide it now is nonsense."
