AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) stock gained by more than 5% during Tuesday’s premarket session as risk appetite improves for higher-beta names.

Investors build positions ahead of the August 5 launch of the company’s next-generation BlueBird 11, 12 and 13 satellites.

Nasdaq futures are up 0.70% while S&P 500 futures have gained 0.12%.

Recent comments from a Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) executive hinting at WhatsApp connectivity through satellite have also strengthened buying momentum.

Technical Analysis

From a trend perspective, ASTS is still in a longer-term repair phase: it’s trading 17.7% below its 50-day SMA ($81.03) and about 19% below both its 100-day SMA ($82.35) and 200-day SMA ($82.35). The stock is, however, 5.9% above its 20-day SMA ($62.94), which suggests the most recent bounce is holding up even though the bigger moving-average stack remains bearish.
