Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:BW) shares jumped 41.64% in Monday’s after-hours trading after the company reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter results and raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA target.

The stock closed Monday’s regular session down 5.23% at $8.88 before climbing to $12.58 after hours.

Babcock & Wilcox provides energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide.

Revenue, Profit and EBITDA Beat Expectations

For the quarter ended June 30, Babcock & Wilcox reported revenue of $319.7 million, up 130% year-over-year from $138.9 million. Net income came in at $14.3 million, compared with a net loss of $58.5 million a year earlier.

Earnings per share were $0.07, compared with a loss of $0.63 in the prior-year quarter, while adjusted EBITDA increased 57% to $21.8 million from $13.9 million. The company said revenue, net income and adjusted EBITDA exceeded company and consensus expectations.

Bookings increased 38% to $151 million, while backlog climbed 533% to $2.6 billion. Babcock & Wilcox also said its global pipeline exceeds $14 billion.

CEO Kenneth Young said demand from artificial intelligence data centers, utilities and industrial customers is accelerating investment in power-generation capacity. The company also secured an additional 1 gigawatt of steam turbines from Siemens Energy AG (OTC:SMEGF) for anticipated data center projects.

Babcock & Wilcox Raises 2026 Outlook

The company raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA target to $80 million to $105 million. Babcock & Wilcox also announced a share repurchase program of up to $50 million and plans to repurchase the remaining $61.8 million of outstanding bonds due in December 2026.
The company said its first data center project with Base Electron is progressing ahead of expectations and on budget, with manufacturing of boilers, steam turbines and other long-lead-time components underway.

The company has a market capitalization of approximately $1.32 billion, with a 52-week high of $22.03 and a 52-week low of $1.17.
