Palo Alto Networks Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) stock surged to new all-time highs on Thursday. The upward movement follows a price forecast upgrade from Citizens JMP and an industry-wide surge in AI-driven cybersecurity demand. Regulatory Review Background In China
The market movement comes after foreign regulatory news. Critical Technical Levels for PANW Stock
From a trend perspective, PANW is stretched but still firmly in control: it’s trading 11.9% above its 20-day SMA ($349.42) and 20.6% above its 50-day SMA ($324.14), which is typical of a strong momentum phase. The longer-term picture is even more extended, with shares 76.4% above the 200-day SMA ($221.55), keeping the primary trend pointed up.
RSI is the key momentum lens right now, and at 70.53 it’s in overbought territory—useful as a "stretch" gauge that often signals the stock may need to cool off or consolidate even if the uptrend remains intact. The golden cross in May (50-day SMA above the 200-day SMA) continues to support the longer-term bullish structure, even after the chart saw a break below support in July that has since been repaired by the rally.
