Keel Infrastructure Corp. (NASDAQ:KEEL) stock is trading higher in Monday’s premarket session. The move follows a recent insider purchase by CEO Benjamin Gagnon.

Gagnon bought nearly 59,000 shares of the company’s common stock last week, according to a regulatory filing.

He purchased 58,888 shares on Thursday, Aug. 13, at a weighted average price of $3.33 per share, an investment of about $196,000. Following the transaction, he directly owned 1,347,736 shares of Keel Infrastructure.

Insider purchases can draw investor attention because executives are using their own capital to increase their exposure to the company. However, an insider purchase alone does not indicate how a stock will perform.

Recent Earnings Miss Estimates

Last week, Keel reported a loss of 11 cents per share, wider than the consensus loss of 6 cents. Revenue of $30.43 million also missed the $32.40 million estimate.

The company posted an operating loss of $141 million, compared with operating income of $11 million a year earlier. The latest result included $63 million of accelerated depreciation tied to mining-rig shutdowns at Panther Creek and Scrubgrass.

Adjusted EBITDA fell to negative $24 million from positive $7 million a year earlier.

Analysts Remain Bullish

Keel carries a consensus Buy rating and an average price forecast of $6.17.

BTIG initiated coverage with a Buy rating and an $8 price forecast on July 22. Citizens started coverage with a Market Outperform rating and a $10 forecast on June 24. Chardan Capital maintained a Buy rating and a $5.50 forecast on June 8.

Exposure To Major ETFs

Keel has a sizable weighting in several State Street Galaxy funds. The State Street Galaxy Hedged Digital Asset Ecosystem ETF (NASDAQ:HECO) has a 10.35% weighting, while the State Street Galaxy Digital Asset Ecosystem ETF (NASDAQ:DECO) has a 10.29% weighting. The State Street Galaxy Transformative Tech Accelerators ETF (NASDAQ:TEKX) has a 10.16% weighting.

Because of those sizable allocations, flows into or out of the ETFs could translate into buying or selling pressure on Keel shares.
