QUICK CONTEXT: ETF Flows Favor Equities, Treasuries

The latest flow data points to broad demand for U.S. equities and fixed income, even as investors pulled money from commodities. U.S. equity ETFs accounted for the largest asset-class inflows at $1.93 billion, equivalent to 0.02% of assets, while U.S. fixed-income ETFs brought in $911.59 million, or 0.04% of assets.

The individual flow leaders show a mix of defensive and cyclical positioning. SGOV, which holds ultra-short Treasury securities, was the day’s biggest creation, while IWM and IWD suggest demand for small-cap and value exposure. SOXX’s $410.26 million inflow also highlights continued interest in semiconductor stocks.

Gold stood out on the other side of the ledger. GLD and IAU together recorded roughly $440 million in redemptions, contributing to the broader $275.07 million outflow from commodity ETFs. Leveraged ETFs also posted $126.02 million in net outflows, while inverse ETFs attracted $199.68 million.

Overall, the flows suggest investors were adding exposure across equities and bonds while trimming commodities and some leveraged strategies.
