Super League Enterprise, Inc. (NASDAQ:SLE) shares fell in Tuesday premarket trading. The down move comes after the company reported second-quarter results on Friday that showed improving margins and a narrower adjusted EBITDA loss, but sales missed expectations.

Super League Enterprise entered Tuesday’s session after a volatile stretch, including a 13.7% premarket drop to $2.90 on Friday and a 24.22% jump to $2.82 on Monday, highlighting sharp swings in the roughly $3.6 million micro-cap stock.

Sales Miss Estimates Despite Margin Improvement

Separately, net revenue rose 16% sequentially to approximately $1.24 million from $1.08 million, while gross margin expanded to 41% from 36%.

Gross revenue remained essentially flat year over year and sequentially at about $3 million.

Adjusted EBITDA loss improved approximately 20% year over year to $1.7 million from $2.1 million.

Pipeline Grows, Balance Sheet Strengthens

Super League ended the quarter with approximately $6.7 million in cash and investments, compared with about $475,000 a year earlier.

The company completed its acquisition of Misfits Ads assets on May 1 and integrated them without increasing its overall cost base, expanding its programmatic advertising and turnkey media capabilities.

Management Targets Q4 Adjusted EBITDA Profitability

"Q2 was a quarter of resilience and continued operating progress. While gross revenue remained essentially flat in a challenging advertising environment, we made meaningful progress beneath the top line," CEO Matt Edelman said.

Super League remains focused on achieving Adjusted EBITDA profitability in the fourth quarter.
