On Tuesday, Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE:BSX) identified a cybersecurity incident on Tuesday that caused global operational disruptions, including delays in processing and shipping customer orders.

The company activated its incident response plan and hired third-party cybersecurity experts to contain the threat. In a Wednesday SEC filing, the medical device maker noted that system access remains limited and the timeline for full restoration is currently unknown.

Boston Scientific Says Scope And Financial Impact Remain Unclear

The company’s investigation of the cybersecurity incident is ongoing, and the full scope, nature, and impacts, including operational and financial impacts, of the incident are not yet known.

Accordingly, the company has not yet determined whether the incident is reasonably likely to have a material impact on the company.

Boston Scientific cut its fiscal 2026 outlook, citing pressures on the Watchman and EP markets.

The medical technology giant reported revenues of $5.442 billion on Wednesday, better than the consensus estimate of $5.361 billion, beating the management guidance of $5.34 billion-$5.44 billion.

In June, Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE:NVO) said it is investigating claims by cyber extortion group FulcrumSec, which alleges it stole more than a terabyte of data from the pharmaceutical company and is considering selling portions of the information after an unsuccessful $25 million ransom demand.
