Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE:DELL) stock slid by almost 2% on Friday as investors weighed new semiconductor tariff uncertainty that could affect pricing and demand across PCs and data-center servers.

Tariff Proposal Puts Dell Hardware In Focus

The Trump administration is reportedly considering semiconductor tariffs that could extend beyond chips to products containing them, including laptops, gaming consoles and data-center servers.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick reportedly favors linking tariff relief for foreign companies to investments in U.S. chip manufacturing.

The White House pushed back on the reports, saying tariff coverage should be treated as “baseless speculation” unless officially announced.

Dell shares remained little changed as S&P 500 futures edged 0.10% higher at the time of publication.
