The U.S. Mint launched sales of gold-colored $1 coins featuring President Donald Trump as part of designs commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary — sales began at noon ET Wednesday with per-coin prices ranging from about $1.55 to $2.44 depending on quantity.
Trump Coin Production Details
- The Trump-themed $1 coin is rolling off the presses at the Philadelphia Mint. This marks the first time a sitting president appears on modern U.S. currency, as the coin is part of a 2020 law authorizing $1 coins for the 250th anniversary of the United States.
- A 25-coin roll costs $61 and a 100-coin bag costs $154.50, and the coin carries the inscriptions “Liberty,” “In God We Trust” and “1776 ~ 2026” with the presidential seal and “250” on the reverse.
- The Mint said the coins may be used as legal tender or as collectibles.

AI Companies and Trump Accounts
- On Wednesday, former White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks urged AI companies to contribute to Trump Accounts, arguing that giving children a financial stake in AI could strengthen public support for the technology.
- Sacks highlighted the example set by SpaceX (NASDAQ:SPCX) President Gwynne Shotwell, who has already made significant contributions.
