Oracle Corp. (NYSE:ORCL) stock is surging on Tuesday, fueled by massive anticipation ahead of its upcoming first quarter earnings report on Thursday and recent high-profile artificial intelligence deal developments.

Nasdaq futures were little changed while S&P 500 futures have shed 0.31%.

Earnings Estimates In Focus

For Oracle’s first quarter fiscal year 2027, Wall Street consensus estimates non-GAAP EPS of $1.67 on revenue of $19.13 billion. The company previously guided EPS of $1.72 to $1.76 on revenue of $18.96 billion to $19.25 billion.

Freedom Capital Markets Head of Technology Research Paul Meeks noted that while Oracle’s remaining performance obligations exceed $600 billion, “about 50% of the RPO is OpenAI.”

Technical Analysis

Oracle is trading about 11.8% above its 20-day SMA ($148.31) and about 18.6% above its 50-day SMA ($139.84), which tells you the recent bounce has had real follow-through. At the same time, it’s only about 0.7% above the 100-day SMA ($164.67) and about 1.8% below the 200-day SMA ($168.78), putting the stock right in a "prove it" zone where longer-term trend followers often demand a clean reclaim.

From a bigger-picture perspective, the stock is still down 33.42% over the past 12 months, and the longer-term damage is reflected in the death cross that formed in January (the 50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA). The July swing low and the July oversold RSI event mark the last major washout area, while the August swing high is the most recent reference point for where rallies have started to fade.

  • Key Resistance: $172 — a nearby round-number area that also sits above the 200-day moving-average zone, where rebounds can stall if buyers don’t follow through.
  • Key Support: $137 — a prior buyer-defense area near the lower end of the recent base, where dip-buyers previously stepped in.

ORCL Stock Price Activity: Oracle shares were up 4.51% at $165.93 during premarket trading on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
