Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ:MSTR) made no Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) purchases between last week, with Michael Saylor skipping his trademark weekend orange-dot post.

Strategy Skips Bitcoin Purchase and Buys Back $176 Million of STRC

According to the SEC filing on Sept. 8, Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings remain unchanged at 845,050 BTC, acquired for $63.73 billion at an average price of roughly $75,412 per coin.

Instead of buying Bitcoin, the company repurchased 1.81 million shares of its STRC (NASDAQ:STRC) for $176.3 million using its USD cash balance.

The board also doubled the authorized size of Strategy’s digital credit securities repurchase program from $1 billion to $2 billion, with roughly $1.19 billion still available under that program and another $1 billion available for MSTR common stock repurchases.

Strategy ended the period with a $5.10 billion USD reserve and $1.44 billion in additional cash, keeping the balance sheet in the same strong position it was in after last week’s purchase.

Why the Pause Matters

As Benzinga reported last week, Strategy ended a two-month Bitcoin buying drought on Aug. 31 when Saylor posted “We’re Back” on X, acquiring 4,603 BTC for $370 million at an average price of $80,382 per coin.

That purchase brought net leverage to 0%, signaling the balance sheet was strong enough to go back on offense.

One week later, with no new purchase and no weekend tracker post from Saylor, the market is now watching whether last week’s buy was a one-off or the start of a renewed accumulation run.

The absence of Saylor’s trademark orange-dot post over the weekend, which has historically preceded Monday treasury announcements, suggests no purchase is coming Monday morning either.
