BridgeBio Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ:BBIO)on Wednesday shared fresh clinical updates on infigratinib.
The company’s 52-week treatment with oral infigratinib in the PROPEL 3 study showed favorable trends versus placebo across exploratory endpoints that go beyond growth, including sleep apnea and otitis media (ear infection) events.
At 52 weeks, mean total apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) increased 10.4% from baseline with oral infigratinib, compared with a 49.2% increase with placebo.
Among children younger than 8, AHI remained unchanged with infigratinib, compared with a 63.2% increase with placebo.
The estimated annualized rate of otitis media was 38% lower with oral infigratinib versus placebo, with the reduction reaching 47% among children younger than 8.
Body Composition and Fat Mass Metrics
Infigratinib was also associated with a smaller increase in BMI at 52 weeks (0.50 kg/m²) than placebo (0.93 kg/m²).
Lean body mass increased more with infigratinib (1.77 kg vs. 1.58 kg), while increases in body fat mass (0.95 kg vs. 1.12 kg) and visceral fat volume (1.55 mL vs. 18.42 mL) were smaller.
Commercial Potential and Regulatory Timelines
BridgeBio believes oral infigratinib is positioned to become the first and only approved oral therapy for children with achondroplasia.
The company submitted an FDA application for oral infigratinib in achondroplasia and anticipates a U.S. launch in mid-2027.
BridgeBio intends to submit a Marketing Authorization Application for achondroplasia to the European Medicines Agency in the fourth quarter of 2026.
