The Academy Veteran Bond ETF (NYSE:VETZ) has earned a five-star, three-year Morningstar Rating, placing it in the top 10% of 123 funds in the US Government Mortgage Backed Bond category based on risk-adjusted returns.
Launched in 2023, VETZ primarily invests in loans to U.S. service members, military veterans, their survivors and veteran-owned businesses. Academy Asset Management said the strategy is designed to provide capital to these borrowers while seeking current income for investors.
QUICK CONTEXT: VETZ Takes A Veteran-Focused Approach
VETZ offers investors exposure to a niche corner of the fixed-income market by directing capital toward loans that finance veteran homeownership and small-business activity. Academy Asset Management said the fund’s dedicated investor base can also support liquidity in markets financing these loans.
The Morningstar rating adds a performance-based measure to that mission. The fund ranked in the top decile of its 123-fund peer group over three years, according to the firm.
