Salesforce, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) AI business is growing far faster than its stock has over the past year, creating an unusual disconnect heading into Dreamforce 2026. Agentforce ARR has surpassed $1.5 billion, up more than 240% year over year, while CRM shares have gained just 1.65% over 12 months.
Salesforce’s AI Gap
The striking part isn’t simply the growth. It is the gap between Salesforce’s AI traction and the stock’s performance.
Agentforce ARR exceeded $1.5 billion in the second quarter, with Salesforce noting that the figure now includes its AI offerings, Slackbot and Headless 360. The company also said Agentforce and Data 360 ARR reached nearly $3.9 billion, up more than 210% year over year.
Yet CRM remains only modestly higher than it was a year ago. The stock is down 6.52% year to date, even after gaining 29.02% over the past month.
That creates the central question for investors: Is Salesforce’s recent rally finally beginning to close a valuation gap that has persisted despite rapid AI growth?

Salesforce: Not Merely Selling an AI Assistant
Evidence suggests Salesforce’s AI story is moving beyond experimentation.
The Marc Benioff-led company reported 3.2 billion Agentic Work Units, or AWUs, delivered in the second quarter, up 97% from the prior quarter. It said 7 billion AWUs have been delivered across Agentforce and Slack to date.
Salesforce is also expanding the ecosystem around those agents. Its Claudeforce partnership with Anthropic brings Claude’s reasoning together with Salesforce’s business data, workflows and governance, allowing sales teams to take actions inside Claude.
The implication is important: Salesforce is not merely selling an AI assistant. It is trying to make autonomous software part of everyday enterprise workflows.
But usage alone does not guarantee a major stock rerating. Investors still need to see how much of that activity converts into durable, incremental spending.
CRM’s Technical Test
That is why the timing of Dreamforce is particularly interesting.

Chart created using Benzinga Pro
CRM stock trades at around $256.58 in the latest chart, while its 50-day and 200-day moving averages sit at $200.42 and $201.10, respectively. The 50-day average is therefore just $0.68 below the 200-day average, putting Salesforce on the verge of a Golden Cross—a technical signal that occurs when the shorter-term average moves above the longer-term one.
The setup gives investors two signals to watch at once: accelerating AI adoption and improving stock momentum.
Why it Matters?
The key question at Dreamforce isn’t whether Salesforce has AI growth—it clearly does.
Investors should watch whether management can show that billions of agentic tasks are translating into expanding customer spending and whether the stock’s recent rally can turn into a sustained rerating rather than simply catching up with fundamentals.
