Shares of Critical Metals Corp. (NASDAQ:CRML) are trading lower Friday morning as investors continue to weigh a slate of company-specific catalysts.

Tanbreez Project Breakthrough and Romanian Refinery Economics

The Friday morning pullback follows a strong fundamental news cycle earlier in the week. On Wednesday, Critical Metals announced a processing breakthrough for its Tanbreez Rare Earth Project in Greenland, achieving greater than 99% dissolution of eudialyte concentrate.

Alongside the technical milestone, the company unveiled economic modeling for a proposed joint venture refinery in Romania. Management estimates the facility will require approximately $1.85 billion in preliminary capital expenditures but projects it could generate between $1.8 billion and $2.2 billion in annual revenue before operating costs, taxes and capital recovery.

The proprietary extraction process is designed to yield 19 ultra-high-purity rare earth products while significantly reducing tailings and generating high-value commercial by-products, including high-purity silica powder.

European Lithium Acquisition Advances Toward Final Approval

Adding to the week’s strategic developments, Critical Metals confirmed on Tuesday that the Supreme Court of Western Australia issued orders advancing the company’s proposed acquisition of European Lithium. The court ruling directed European Lithium to convene securityholder meetings, now scheduled for October 22, to vote on the scheme of arrangement.

While these operational and M&A milestones represent significant commercial progress for Critical Metals, the massive $1.85 billion estimated capital requirement for the Romanian refinery leaves the stock highly sensitive to borrowing costs, driving Friday’s pullback amid elevated Treasury yields.
