Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (NYSE:TSM) stock rose more than 1% in Monday’s premarket trading as chip stocks followed a stronger market backdrop. Nasdaq futures gained 0.93%, while S&P 500 futures rose 0.67%.

Taiwan Semiconductor is benefiting from broader strength in technology and semiconductor stocks. Investors are leaning into large-cap technology and AI-linked names as U.S. stock futures point to a higher open.

AI Demand Drives Packaging Expansion

Separately, Taiwan broke ground Monday on a new advanced packaging industrial park in Kaohsiung, Reuters reported.

Taiwan Semiconductor plans to build two facilities at the Baipu Industrial Park. The sites will focus on technology validation and talent training. Operations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2029.

The project adds to Taiwan’s push to expand its semiconductor ecosystem in the southern part of the island.

Taiwan Semiconductor Technical Analysis

Taiwan Semiconductor remains in a strong uptrend.

The stock is trading about 4% above its 20-day simple moving average of $422.49. It is also 5% above its 50-day SMA of $417.37 and about 16% above its 200-day SMA of $379.33.

The moving averages also remain bullish. The 20-day SMA is above the 50-day average, while the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day average. That setup supports the stock’s intermediate- and long-term trend.

Momentum is also improving. The MACD is above its signal line, while the histogram remains positive. That suggests buyers are gaining momentum.
