Greenland Mines Ltd. (NASDAQ:GRML) shares are up during Monday’s premarket session, trading higher by about 144% as traders react to historic U.S.-Denmark Greenland security headlines that could put a brighter spotlight on Greenland-linked strategic assets.
GRML Stock Jumps On U.S.–Denmark–Greenland Security Agreement
The Trump administration promoted a U.S. agreement with Denmark and Greenland that, per POLITICO citing the State Department, gives the U.S. power to bar who can tap Greenland’s critical minerals and mining sectors, with provisions that appear designed to block China or Russia from doing business or establishing a military footprint there.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Greenland will be part of North America’s strategic defense area and that the deal "permanently and completely" addresses U.S. national security concerns.
The company is applauding the "historic" U.S.–Denmark–Greenland security agreement, framing it as a step that reinforces Greenland’s strategic importance.
Company Profile & Why The News Matters
Greenland Mines is focused on exploring and developing mineral resources in Southeast Greenland. It operates two divisions: Mining, focused on the Skaergaard palladium-platinum-gold project in southeast Greenland and the Sarfartoq neodymium-praseodymium (Nd-Pr) rare earths project in southwest Greenland; and Biotech, which includes Klotho’s KLTO-202 program for ALS.
The company is building a multi-asset platform spanning rare earth magnet materials, precious metals and selected midstream processing opportunities, while pursuing its broader North Atlantic Critical Metals Corridor strategy connecting Greenland resources with allied downstream markets and industrial infrastructure.
In September, the company disclosed that it has completed seven bulk-sample sites across three key horizons in Skaergaard, exceeding its initial plan and providing additional material and variability data for GTK Mintec and other metallurgical consultants.
GRML Price Action: Greenland Mines shares were up 144.56% at $6.97 during premarket trading on Monday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
