XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) spiked after Ripple said asset managers and commercial projects are preparing to use a major XRP Ledger payments upgrade that is nearing activation.
Will XRPL Upgrade Push XRP Higher?
RippleX head of engineering Ayo Akinyele that asset managers are preparing to use Batch V1.1, which can bundle up to eight transactions into a single operation.
Its all-or-nothing structure allows linked transactions to settle together or fail together, supporting use cases such as delivery-versus-payment.
"We’ll be sharing more once the feature is live, including work with key asset managers," Akinyele told CoinDesk.
Batch V1.1 has support from 30 of 35 tracked validators and is projected to activate after Sept. 29 if support remains above 80%.
The upgrade replaces Batch V1.0, which was withdrawn after researchers found a critical signature-validation flaw. The vulnerable version never activated, and no funds were exposed.
Can XRP Break $1.50?
Trader DOM said XRP tested its three-month and six-month rolling volume-weighted average prices as support for the first time in more than a year.
He sees $1.50 as the immediate level that matters after XRP spent roughly 230 days below it.
Flipping it into support could open the door to a move above $1.80, he said.
Castillo Trading also highlighted a clean setup from the range lows, saying XRP has a clear invalidation level and could see momentum accelerate.
XRP Leaves Bitcoin Behind on Upbit
XRP ranked as the most traded cryptocurrency on South Korea’s Upbit, ahead of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and Tether (CRYPTO: USDT).
Upbit recorded 11.2 trillion won, or roughly $8 billion, in weekly trading volume, up 6.74% from the previous week, BSCN News noted.
The heightened activity coincides with XRP’s 8.4% daily rally and its push toward a resistance level that traders have watched for months.
