Bitcoin Cash (CRYPTO: BCH) exploded 21% Tuesday after CME Group (NASDAQ:CME) announced new futures contracts for BCH and Uniswap (CRYPTO: UNI).

• CME Group shares are experiencing downward pressure. Why are CME shares declining?

What CME Announced

CME Group said in a Tuesday press release that the new contracts respond directly to client demand for institutional-grade risk tools in high-liquidity altcoin markets. Traders get a choice of contract sizes:

  • Bitcoin Cash futures — 250 BCH, or Micro Bitcoin Cash futures at 25 BCH
  • Uniswap futures — 10,000 UNI, or Micro Uniswap futures at 1,000 UNI

“As crypto markets continue to mature, participants require broader, regulated tools to navigate evolving digital asset-related price risk,” said Giovanni Vicioso, CME Group’s Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products.

Ripple Prime President Noel Kimmel added that institutions need round-the-clock access to regulated derivatives, and these contracts extend that access alongside CME’s existing XRP and Bitcoin products.

Why This Adds to a Bigger Trend

CME’s crypto suite already spans Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), XRP (CRYPTO: XRP), Solana (CRYPTO: SOL), Cardano (CRYPTO: ADA), Chainlink (CRYPTO: LINK), Stellar (CRYPTO: XLM), Avalanche (CRYPTO: AVAX) and Sui (CRYPTO: SUI)

The numbers behind that lineup show institutional appetite keeps growing:

  • First half of 2026 average daily volume: 279,800 contracts, worth $8.3 billion notional
  • First half of 2026 average open interest: 264,600 contracts, worth $15.4 billion notional
  • 2026 altcoin expansion: Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche and Sui alone added over $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date

BCH and UNI Technical Analysis

Bitcoin Cash surges 21%, reclaiming the 200-day EMA at $308 for the first time since the May breakdown.

The move also clears the $240 to $260 resistance shelf that capped every rally since June, flipping that zone into fresh support.

  • Resistance: $328.94 (today’s high), then $330 to $340
  • Support: $308 (200-day EMA), then $240 to $260

Uniswap climbs 3%, breaking out above the descending wedge that has compressed price since the 2024 highs.

All four EMAs now line up bullish for the first time in months, with the RSI Divergence Indicator reading 73.13, overbought but backed by a clean bullish divergence off the summer lows.

  • Resistance: $9.74 (weekly high), then the wedge apex near $10 to $11
  • Support: $7.83 (200-day EMA), then $6.01 (100-day EMA)
