SoFi Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:SOFI) shares are trading higher on Tuesday. The company, along with Mastercard Incorporated (NYSE:MA), disclosed that stablecoin settlement is now live across SoFi Bank’s debit and credit card program.
Moves Card Program To Blockchain Settlement
This enables transactions through SoFiUSD on Mastercard’s global payments network under the companies’ partnership announced in March.
SoFi Bank is moving its entire $25 billion card program to stablecoin-based transaction settlement using SoFiUSD.
SoFiUSD is the first stablecoin issued by a nationally chartered bank and is designed to maintain a 1:1 redemption value against the U.S. dollar and is backed primarily by cash reserves. Transactions are now live on the blockchain.
The launch gives card issuers, acquirers and merchants another way to manage settlement and liquidity through established payment infrastructure while supporting broader use of bank-issued stablecoins in payments.
It also demonstrates how bank-issued stablecoins can work alongside existing payment networks to connect traditional financial systems with blockchain-based infrastructure.
SOFI Technical Analysis: Key Support, Resistance And Momentum
At $17.09, the stock is sitting in a "stuck in the middle" zone: it’s trading 3.1% below the 20-day SMA and 2.9% below the 50-day SMA, but only 0.8% below the 100-day SMA—suggesting short-term pressure without a clean breakdown. The bigger overhang remains the longer trend, with shares still 11.6% below the 200-day SMA and down 42.49% over the past 12 months.
Momentum looks more range-bound than trending right now, with RSI at 45.17 (neutral), which typically signals neither buyers nor sellers have strong control. For longer-term context, the death cross in March (50-day falling below the 200-day) still frames rallies as "prove it" moves until price can reclaim longer moving averages.
- Key Resistance: $19.00 — a round-number area that also sits near the longer moving-average zone (200-day EMA at $18.72 and 200-day SMA at $19.39), where rebounds can stall
- Key Support: $17.00 — a nearby round-number level just under current price that can act as a near-term line in the sand
