Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (NASDAQ:FFAI) shares are trading lower on Monday, as broader risk appetite weakens and investors digest fresh concerns about the company’s China-linked robotics supply chain.

The S&P 500 was down 0.7%, the Nasdaq fell 1.28%, and Consumer Discretionary declined 1.1%, adding pressure to a highly volatile stock.

The stock is also giving back some of Friday’s sharp 22.9% rally, suggesting profit-taking and fading momentum may be contributing, alongside a weaker market backdrop.

China Supply-Chain Risk Returns To Focus

Faraday Global Executive Chairman Jerry Wang told Benzinga that removing China too quickly from the U.S. robotics hardware supply chain could slow domestic development.

Faraday can currently source only about 40% of the robot components it needs in the U.S., Wang said, with fewer than half available at competitive prices.

The comments put an existing execution risk back in focus as Faraday pushes to localize production.

The FCC added foreign-made humanoid and quadruped robots to its Covered List earlier this year as regulators pushed for a more secure domestic supply chain.

Faraday still targets a U.S. robot factory by year-end and plans its first domestically assembled device for February 2027.

Robotics Becomes A Bigger Part Of Faraday’s Strategy

Wang also told Benzinga that hardware is no longer the biggest obstacle to the wider commercialization of robots.

"The hardware is not a barrier right now. The barrier is software and training," Wang said, pointing to Tesla’s computing power and access to data as advantages. "This will take time, but I think that they will get there."

He rated current robot hardware at about 60 out of 100 versus 10 for software and training, and called a 2027 commercial launch of Tesla’s Optimus "very realistic."

Faraday has already delivered more than 500 humanoid, quadruped and wheeled robots this year, Wang said.

FFAI Technical Setup

At $1.40, FFAI trades about 18.6% below its 20-day SMA of $1.72 and 64.3% below its 50-day SMA of $3.92.

The 50-day average remains far below the 200-day SMA of $61.97, though Faraday’s history of reverse stock splits makes long-term moving-average comparisons less intuitive.

RSI stands at 21.32, placing the stock in deeply oversold territory. That can support short-term rebounds, but the broader trend remains weak.

  • Key resistance: $1.72, near the 20-day SMA
  • Key support: $1.25, near the 52-week low

FFAI Stock Price Activity: Faraday Future shares are trading lower by 11.02% at $1.43 at the time of publication on Monday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
