U.S. stocks traded lower midway through trading, with the Dow Jones index falling more than 200 points on Monday.

The Dow traded down 0.42% to 51,611.16 while the NASDAQ dipped 0.62% to 26,900.43. The S&P 500 also fell, dropping, 0.55% to 7,700.96.

Leading and Lagging Sectors

Health care shares jumped by 0.3% on Monday.

In trading on Monday, communication services stocks fell by 1.4%.

Top Headline

The Dallas Fed’s general business activity index for Texas manufacturing fell to 9.8 in September from 11.6 in the previous month.

Equities Trading UP
           

  • Knorex Ltd (NYSE:KNRX) shares shot up 298% to $1.23. KNOREX Ltd announced that it is pursuing a strategic carve-out of AscendX Media Technologies Pte. Ltd, its wholly owned publisher monetization subsidiary.
  • Shares of Kodiak Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:KOD) got a boost, surging 177% to $89.52 after the company announced that the primary endpoints were met for Zenkuda and tabirafusp-ted in the Phase 3 DAYBREAK study in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration.
  • Volato Group Inc (NYSE:SOAR) shares were also up, gaining 110% to $0.37 after the company announced its Alignment Engine subsidiary has entered into two four-year, take-or-pay orders.

Equities Trading DOWN

  • TEN Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:XHLD) shares dropped 93% to $0.92.
  • Shares of Neo-Concept International Grp Hldngs Ltd (NASDAQ:NCI) were down 85% to $2.14.
  • Masonglory Ltd (NASDAQ:MSGY) was down, falling 65% to $2.84. Masonglory announced a $1 million private placement of 667K Class A shares at $1.50 per share with Series A and Series B warrants.

Commodities

In commodity news, oil traded up 0.2% to $92.61 while gold traded down 3.5% at $4,170.10.

Silver traded down 4.7% to $61.740 on Monday, while copper fell 1.7% to $6.6500.

Euro zone

European shares were mixed today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 rose 0.01%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index fell 0.51%, London’s FTSE 100 fell 0.1%, Germany’s DAX declined 0.13%, while France’s CAC 40 rose 0.01%.

Asia Pacific Markets

Asian markets closed lower on Monday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 dipping 0.73%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gaining 0.54%, China’s SSE Composite Index tumbling 1.67% and India’s BSE Sensex falling 1.52%.
