Quantum-Si Incorporated (NASDAQ:QSI) stock surged more than 24% on Tuesday after the company presented interim Proteus data at HUPO 2026.

Quantum-Si Highlights Proteus Performance

The protein analysis company described the results as a “step-change” in performance for its Proteus platform.

In a control peptide study, Proteus delivered a median of 30 times more alignments than Platinum Pro from a single chamber.

Proteus also identified all six control peptides in every run. Its median false discovery rate was 1.36%, compared with 6.58% for Platinum Pro.

Based on the single-chamber results, Quantum-Si projects that a full four-chamber Proteus run could generate about 60 times more alignments than a two-chamber Platinum Pro run.

In protein mixtures prepared with a commercial library preparation kit, Proteus identified 1.6 to 2.0 times more peptides than Platinum Pro.

Proteus also detected all 24 proteins in a separate panel that had not previously been sequenced on either platform. Platinum Pro detected an average of 20.3.

The platform detected 4.3 times more amino acids per run. Quantum-Si also reported higher per-residue detection, including for cysteine and histidine, which were detected only on Proteus.

Trading Volume Surges

Trading activity was unusually heavy Tuesday. QSI’s session volume reached 20.54 million shares, compared with its 100-day average volume of 2.85 million shares.

That means roughly seven times the stock’s normal daily volume had changed hands.

The elevated activity is notable because Quantum-Si is a micro-cap stock, a category that can experience sharp price swings when trading volume accelerates.

QSI Price Action: Quantum-Si shares were up 24.39% at $0.98 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
