Robinhood Markets Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) unveiled a new wave of AI trading tools on Tuesday, including autonomous trading agents built directly into the app, as it pushes further into agentic finance, with the stock climbing more than 2% in after-hours trading on the company’s 24-hour trading platform.
Agents Can Now Trade on Their Own
Robinhood is betting traders will hand over decision-making to AI, unveiling Robinhood Agents—bots built directly into the app that analyze markets, build strategies, and execute trades on their own.
CEO Vlad Tenev framed the push as democratizing tools “once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms,” a pitch that comes as more than 150,000 customers have already opened agentic accounts since May, with those agents pulling Robinhood’s data roughly 30 million times a day.
The brokerage first unveiled the feature in May, allowing customers to connect external AI models like Anthropic‘s Claude to a ring-fenced brokerage account to research, plan, and place trades.
Turning Its Trading App Into a Data Marketplace
The company is also rolling out Agent Apps, a subscription marketplace where outside firms like Unusual Whales and Nasdaq sell premium market data directly inside the trading experience.
A forthcoming feature called Loops would let those same AI agents run continuously, executing standing instructions around the clock without a trader having to check in.
“The stock market never sleeps, and neither should your portfolio,” the company said.
Round-The-Clock Push Fits a Broader Industry Race
Robinhood has offered its own 24 Hour Market since 2023, while Nasdaq Inc. (NASDAQ:NDAQ) is pursuing a nearly continuous schedule, running 23 hours a day, five days a week, pending SEC approval and targeting a December 6 transition.
Price Action: The stock closed 0.19% lower on Tuesday but gained 2.11% in overnight trading to $118.71, as per the company’s trading platform.
Benzinga edge rankings indicate Robinhood’s stock has a Momentum score in the 86th percentile and a Growth score in the 89th percentile.
