World (WLD) token staged an impressive rebound in September, climbing to its highest levels in over three months.

WLD Left Blue-Chip Coins in the Dust

The cryptocurrency soared 35% over the last month, with most of that advance packed into the final week. WLD traded as high as $0.58 this weekend, a price point not seen since late June.

WLD, currently valued at nearly $2 billion, overshadowed large-cap heavyweights, such as Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) and Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE), in weekly and monthly returns.

World Ecosystem Erupts

World is an identity verification project that captures people’s irises to confirm their humanness and build a digital ID. Historically, eligible users could receive WLD tokens through World’s airdrop program; new airdrop cycles stopped being created or renewed in June 2026.

Tools For Humanity, a tech company co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, is the primary developer of the project.

World token is gaining attention amid the rapid growth of AI agents, reflected in strong ongoing demand for Meta Platforms Inc.’s (NASDAQ:META) Muse. Because of World’s proof-of-humanity approach, the token is seen as a beneficiary.

The cryptocurrency market’s broader rally in September also aided WLD’s recovery. The coin is down nearly 60% over the last year.

Price Action: As of this writing, WLD is up 1.67% in the last 24 hours to $0.5102, according to Benzinga Pro.

Shares of Eightco Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:ORBS), the world’s largest publicly disclosed institutional holder of WLD, are up nearly 47% over the past month. The stock traded up 0.85% at $1.19 during Wednesday’s pre-market trading.
