RTX Corporation (NYSE:RTX) shares edged higher in Friday’s premarket session after its Raytheon business secured a contract worth up to $24.4 billion to produce Standard Missile-6.
Raytheon Lands $24.4 Billion SM-6 Contract
The five-year agreement, which includes two additional option years, covers production of SM-6 interceptors used for offensive strike and missile-defense missions.
Raytheon is expected to increase SM-6 availability under the contract, keeping production capacity and delivery volumes in focus.
The deal extends a recent run of major missile awards.
In September, the Pentagon awarded Raytheon a five-year AMRAAM contract worth up to $20.7 billion to support higher production and U.S. stockpile replenishment.
That followed an August contract worth up to $22.9 billion to expand Tomahawk missile production, along with two additional awards totaling $1.28 billion for Standard Missile-3 Block IIA and TOW weapon systems.
Together, the contracts strengthen multi-year demand visibility across Raytheon’s missile portfolio.
