Billionaire investor Dan Loeb’s Third Point LLC exited five semiconductor-related holdings in the second quarter.
According to its 13F filing, a quarterly report of investment holdings submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission within 45 days of the end of each quarter, Third Point fully exited Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA), a position worth $33.1 million and Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGO), worth $15.5 million.
The liquidation went beyond those two prominent names. Third Point also sold out of KLA Corp. (NASDAQ:KLAC), worth $16.2 million, Lam Research Corp. (NASDAQ:LRCX), worth $16 million, and the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SMH), worth $15.3 million.
Third Point Exits Five Semiconductor-Related Bets
Together, the five semiconductor-related positions were worth approximately $96.1 million based on their reported values in the previous quarter.
The shift, however, was not a complete retreat from semiconductors. Third Point increased its position in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (NYSE:TSM) by 67.3%, bringing its holdings to 460,000 shares valued at approximately $219.7 million.
The fund also added exposure further down the semiconductor supply chain. Third Point opened a $94.4 million position in TTM Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:TTMI), a manufacturer of printed circuit boards and related components used in data centers and other technology applications. The investment adds exposure to the broader AI infrastructure ecosystem beyond chipmakers themselves.
How the Exited Chip Stocks Are Performing

| Broadcom | -7.04% |
| KLA | +17.23% |
