U.S. stocks traded higher midway through trading, with the Dow Jones index surging around 350 points on Tuesday.
The Dow traded up 0.69% to 51,622.17 while the NASDAQ jumped 0.79% to 27,694.08. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.86% to 7,840.48.

Utilities shares jumped by 1.9% on Tuesday.
In trading on Tuesday, energy stocks fell by 0.4%.
Top Headline
Lamb Weston Holdings Inc (NYSE:LW) shares jumped around 12% on Tuesday as the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter financial results and raised its FY27 guidance above estimates.
Lamb Weston reported quarterly earnings of 75 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 59 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $1.670 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.655 billion.
Equities Trading UP
- Option Care Health Inc (NASDAQ:OPCH) shares shot up 33% to $31.05. CD&R and McKesson Corporation signed an agreement to acquire Option Care Health.
- Shares of XChange TEC.INC (NASDAQ:XHG) got a boost, surging 77% to $3.37 after the company announced it intends to gradually reduce operations in Mainland China and plans to invest between $5 million and $10 million in the U.S. Market.
- Constellation Energy Corp (NASDAQ:CEG) shares were also up, gaining 14% to $304.32 after the company announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration with Google to bring 890 megawatts of new nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid.

- Arrivent Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ:AVBP) shares dipped 58% to $11.82 as the company said Says Phase 3 trial of firmonertinib in EGFR Exon 20 lung cancer missed primary progression-free survival endpoint.
- Shares of Vaxcyte Inc (NASDAQ:PCVX) were down 12% to $64.95. Vaxcyte announced $500 million equity offering and $500 million convertible notes offering.
- Spyre Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:SYRE) was down, falling 10% to $83.76 after the company announced pricing of $350.0 million public offering of common stock.
Commodities
In commodity news, oil traded down 0.6% to $88.87 while gold traded up 0.6% at $4,183.60.
Silver traded up 0.1% to $61.36 on Tuesday, while copper fell 0.4% to $6.6170.
Euro zone
European shares were higher today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 gained 0.5%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index rose 0.8%, London’s FTSE 100 rose 0.2%, Germany’s DAX climbed 0.6%, while France’s CAC 40 rose 0.3%.
Asia Pacific Markets
Asian markets closed higher on Tuesday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 surging 1.05%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gaining 1% and India’s BSE Sensex rising 0.95%.
Economics
- The U.S. trade deficit rose to $105.6 billion in August from a revised $92.8 billion in the previous month, compared to market estimates of $102.0 billion and recording its largest deficit since March 2025.
- U.S. exports rose $4.5 billion to $315.2 billion in August, while imports rose $17.2 billion to a record high of $420.8 billion in August.
