Analysts Weigh Growth And Valuation
William Blair on Tuesday said NeoGenomics does not depend on a single product or indication for growth, distinguishing it from several industry peers.
Analyst Matt Larew said revenue growth is being supported by commercial execution, a shift toward higher-value oncology testing, a durable base of recurring menu testing and strong exposure to the community channel.
He added that upcoming product launches and new indications could provide additional growth in coming quarters and years.
William Blair said sustained financial improvement could support valuation expansion. However, the firm currently values NeoGenomics at about three times estimated 2027 sales, compared with roughly five times for close peers and 11 times for a broader peer group.
Larew attributed the discount to slower growth, inconsistent historical execution and an overhang tied to the nonclinical business.
William Blair reiterated its Market Perform rating. BTIG upgraded NeoGenomics from Neutral to Buy with a $28 price forecast. Needham maintained its Buy rating and raised its price forecast to $22 from $19.
NEO Price Action: NeoGenomics shares were down 12.15% at $16.80 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
Trading activity was elevated. About 3.25 million shares changed hands Tuesday, compared with the 100-day average volume of 2.33 million shares.
