U.S. stocks were lower, with the Nasdaq Composite falling around 100 points on Thursday.
Shares of Helen of Troy Limited (NASDAQ:HELE) rose sharply after the company reported better-than-expected second-quarter adjusted EPS results and raised its FY27 GAAP EPS guidance.
Adjusted earnings per share rose 33.9% to 79 cents from 59 cents a year earlier, beating analysts’ estimate of 50 cents. Net sales increased 2.1% year over year to $440.93 million from $431.78 million, narrowly missing the $442.33 million analyst estimate.
Helen of Troy shares jumped 15.5% to $29.50 on Thursday.

- Haemonetics Corporation (NYSE:HAE) gained 17.7% to $119.79.
- Hallador Energy Company (NASDAQ:HNRG) rose 8.5% to $14.81 after the company announced that its subsidiary, Hallador Power Company, executed six-year capacity and energy agreements with an investment-grade MISO Zone 6 utility covering deliveries from the Merom Generating Station from June 1, 2029, through May 31, 2035.
- Veradermics, Incorporated (NYSE:MANE) gained 8.3% to $120.40.
- Wolfspeed, Inc. (NYSE:WOLF) rose 6.1% to $33.36 after the company announced it has received a conditional loan commitment letter from the U.S. Department of War for up to $1.5 billion of long-term financing to support the domestic development and production of silicon carbide materials and wide bandgap power devices.
- Okeanis Eco Tankers Corp. (NYSE:ECO) surged 5.5% to $92.89.
- Intellia Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTLA) gained 5% to $12.30.
- Sasol Limited (NYSE:SSL) rose 4.5% to $14.84.
- Woodside Energy Group Ltd (NYSE:WDS) surged 4.3% to $22.72.
