FTAI Aviation Ltd. (NASDAQ:FTAI) expanded its multi-year engine exchange agreement with United Airlines Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:UAL) to cover designated CFM56-7B engines.
The expanded program provides United with a serviceable engine before scheduled removal and takes the unserviceable engine in return, helping United reduce downtime and maintenance costs while adding engines to FTAI’s MRO inventory. The program began in 2026 and will expand as more engines come due for removal.
In September, FTAI Aviation expanded its engine maintenance partnership with Indonesia’s GMF, securing guaranteed capacity for five years across Asia-Pacific.
The agreement initially covers CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines and GTCP131-9 APUs, with plans to expand into module and component repairs and eventually CFM LEAP engines.
FTAI Stock Analysis
FTAI’s premarket decline comes alongside broader market weakness, with S&P 500 futures down 0.3%.
FTAI remains below all major moving averages—3.9% below its 20-day SMA, 12.3% below the 50-day SMA, 21.2% below the 100-day SMA, and 27.2% below the 200-day SMA.
That setup keeps the broader trend bearish, reinforced by the August death cross, when the 50-day SMA moved below the 200-day SMA.
Momentum, however, is showing early signs of stabilization. MACD is above its signal line with a positive histogram, suggesting downside momentum may be easing even though the stock has yet to reclaim key moving averages.
FTAI is also contending with overhead resistance after breaking below support in September and setting a swing low in October.
- Key Support: $172 — a nearby pivot zone around current levels where buyers have recently stepped in.
- Key Resistance: $200 — a psychological level near the 50-day SMA where rebounds could face selling pressure.
