XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) ETFs pulled in $8.17 million Thursday, the only one of four major spot crypto ETF categories to post net inflows that session.
How XRP Broke From the Pack
SoSoValue data showed Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH)and Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) funds collectively lost $319.99 million Thursday, while XRP funds added money:
| Spot ETF category | Oct. 8 net flows | Oct. 5-8 net flows |
| XRP | +$8.17 million | +$11.31 million |
| Bitcoin | −$244.13 million | −$702.24 million |
| Ethereum | −$72.54 million | −$485.96 million |
| Solana | −$3.32 million | −$21.05 million |
The divergence held through the whole week, with XRP ETFs adding $11.31 million over the first four trading days while the other three categories combined shed $1.21 billion.
Ethereum logged its eighth straight session of outflows, and Solana extended its own losing streak to four sessions.
Franklin’s XRPZ (NYSE:XRPZ) accounted for the entire $8.17 million gain Thursday, while the other four XRP funds posted zero net flows, pointing to demand concentrated in one issuer rather than spread across the category.
Bitcoin’s selloff centered on Fidelity’s FBTC (NYSE:FBTC), which lost $197.09 million, roughly 81% of the category’s total outflow.
BlackRock’s ETHA (NASDAQ:ETHA) led Ethereum withdrawals at $71.12 million, while Bitwise’s BSOL (NYSE:BSOL) lost $5.26 million in Solana, outweighing inflows into two competing funds.
XRP ETFs are now on track for a 13th straight week of net inflows, having added $11.31 million through Thursday.
Friday’s numbers remain pending, and outflows would need to match that full amount to erase the week’s gain.
What the Charts Say About a Bounce
Trader Cryptoinsightuk said Thursday, as Benzinga reported, that XRP’s aggregated open interest fell 4.6% in token terms and 8.6% in dollar terms, a sharper drop than the price move itself suggests, pointing to leveraged positions getting closed out.
Rising spot trading volume hints buyers may be stepping in despite the broader selloff, even as funding rates turned negative, showing more traders positioned for further downside.
Cryptoinsightuk flagged a bullish RSI divergence on the four-hour chart, where XRP prints a lower low while RSI forms a higher low, a signal that selling pressure may be fading.
The trader expects a potential entry near the lower end of XRP’s range, though a brief liquidity sweep below support remains possible.
Where XRP Stands Technically
XRP trades flat at $1.38, after breaking below its rising trendline from August’s $1 low.
That trendline now caps price as resistance, with XRP stuck below its 20-day EMA at $1.4555 and hovering right at its 200-day EMA near $1.3788.
Key levels for XRP:
- $1.40 to $1.46: resistance zone, 50-day and 20-day EMAs
- $1.34: 100-day EMA, deeper support
