Oracle Corp. (NYSE:ORCL) stock is falling on Monday, primarily due to profit-taking and broader pressure on AI-related stocks following last week’s reports about OpenAI’s revenue. The Nasdaq is down 0.55% while the S&P 500 has shed 0.02% and technology is off 1.12% even as market breadth stays positive with 9 sectors advancing.

OpenAI told investors its annualized revenue approached $50 billion at the end of September, rather than the $70 billion previously reported, the Financial Times reported Thursday. Annualized revenue projects the current pace of sales over a full year. The difference does not mean OpenAI lost $20 billion in sales.

Why the Revenue Numbers Differ

According to the FT, investors adjusted OpenAI’s revenue upward to compare it with Anthropic’s, which includes the full value of sales through cloud partners.

Investors assume that if OpenAI’s revenue disappoints, it could struggle to meet its commitments to Oracle, raising concerns about Oracle’s AI infrastructure investments and future growth.

Technical Analysis

The longer-term trend remains bearish: Oracle is trading 14.9% below its 200-day SMA ($161.45) and 11.6% below its 100-day SMA ($155.41), with a death cross that formed in January still hanging over the chart. The stock is also below its 20-day and 50-day averages, and the 20-day SMA sitting under the 50-day SMA keeps the near-term trend pointed down.

Momentum is best framed by RSI, which is at 45.27—neutral, but tilted slightly to the downside rather than showing a "washed-out" oversold condition.

Key levels are tight around the current tape, so traders will likely watch whether price can hold support or gets rejected on rebounds toward overhead supply.

  • Key Resistance: $153.50 — a nearby rebound-stall zone that lines up with the broader overhead area between the 100-day/200-day region.
  • Key Support: $137 — a near-term floor close to current price where buyers may try to defend the recent range.

ORCL Stock Price Activity: Oracle shares are trading lower by 3.10% at $137.02 at the time of publication on Monday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
